The 13th International Conference on Project Management was held on Sunday and Monday, February 28 and 29, 2018, at Razi International Conference Hall, with the main focus of "Good Governance and Its Role in Sustainable Project-Oriented Development" with the presence and participation of over 1,000 experts and managers of various organizations. At this conference, Dr. Mohammad Ahmadzadeh, Arya Hamrah Director of Consulting and Training, presented the fundamental concepts and infrastructure of Agile Project Management and examined a number of practical case studies implemented in Iranian organizations during a special workshop entitled "PMBOK-2017 Agile Project Management (6th edition)".
The conference, which was organized by Ariana Industrial Research Group in partnership with Iran Project Management Association, has a special position in the project management community, and annually brings together experts and managers involved in project-oriented organizations to update their specialized knowledge and expand their professional interactions in this significant event. The 13th Conference, which was organized in parallel in four halls as before, was composed of various sections such as keynote speeches, workshops, research papers, case studies, notable project management experiences, specialized forums and side exhibitions.
Due to the large presence of managers and experts at the conference, in addition to academic lecturers, professional executives from project-oriented organizations and project managers were invited to speak as keynote speakers. In this section, Tim Brady, the prominent professor at Brighton University of England, also introduced the latest scientific achievements in today’s project management. Among the other keynote speakers, the following figures are most noted: Dr. Mahmoud Sadeghi, the current Iranian Parliament representative, Dr. Abbas Akhundi, Minister of Roads and Urban Development, Dr. Massoud Nili, Special Assistant to the Iranian President for Economic Affairs, Dr. Tahmasb Mazaheri, former Head of the Central Bank of Iran, and Dr. Saeed Mohammad, Board Chairman of Iran Project Management Association.
In this conference, Dr. Mohammad Ahmadzadeh, through holding a special workshop on "PMBOK-2017 Agile Project Management", sought to reflect some of Arya Hamrah effectual achievements as a project-oriented organization. The Director of the Consulting and Training Department at Arya Hamrah believes that working environments experience highly competitive and changing conditions, and in this context, Agile Project Management helps organizations interact with issues such as rapid and unpredictable changes in the projects, specific orders and interests of the stakeholders, desirable quality expected from services and etc. In addition to learning the principal concepts of Agile Project Management, the audience gained knowledge of the infrastructure needed to implement it in Iranian organizations. Correspondingly, the instructor introduced and explored some practical examples of Agile Project Management in the Iranian organizations.
